Welcome

Phumula Guest Cottage

Phumula Guest Cottage is  a small self catering wooden cabin built on the beautiful Mt Yae of Motobu Town in Yanbaru, northern Okinawa, on Izumi Mango Farm. Our primary business is growing exclusive mango for the Japanese summer gift giving market but we have been hosting guests from all over the world since 2019 when we first opened the cabin to the public on Airbnb.

The studio-style cottage can sleep up to four, and is equipped with a

  • full kitchen (including basics like cooking oil, spices, soya sauce etc

  • 4 plate gas stove top

  • washing machine (and washing powder!)

  • gas drier

  • shower

  • toilet

  • outdoor seating area with a fire pit and firewood , camping chairs

  • BBQ set, chairs, tables, firelighters and charcoal

This isolated cottage is perfect for couples, remote workers and travelers alike.

Families with children stay here often but please understand that the extra 2 beds are the supplied floor mats and you will need to set them up at night in the living area to sleep on.

There are not separate bedroom areas.

The area outside the cottage is large and spacious and great for children with lots of energy to run around in, but for those travelling alone or for couples, the space, peace and quiet and fresh air in this area creates a much needed space for slowing down and relaxing.

Being off the beaten track, this hide-away is an ideal place to get away, whether you wish to star-gaze on clear nights, sit around a camp fire, listen to the sounds of the forest, or simply retreat to a beautiful and peaceful setting. The wooden cabin naturally creates a warm, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

Both long and short stays are options for guests who are interested in staying here. Although the cottage is isolated from the city, almost everything you need is within a short 15 - 20 minute drive. We also live on the property so you can easily contact us should you need anything urgently.

Most of our reservations are coming through Airbnb and Rakuten Travel
